Teachers: Looking Up a Student
Finding a student, reading their profile, and what the analytics on it are actually telling you.

Finding a student
Two routes:
- My Class → Students — your own roster, which is where you will usually start.
- Students → Student Search — everyone, if you have been granted it. Search by name or Student ID; ID is faster and unambiguous where names repeat.
Selecting a student opens their profile.
What's on the profile
The student's details, and then their history: attendance over the month and the term, exam results across subjects, and payments where you can see them.
The most useful thing here for a teacher is the combination. A drop in results that lines up with a drop in attendance is a different conversation from one that doesn't, and the profile is the one place both are on the same screen.
Reading the attendance figures honestly
The monthly and term attendance on a profile are built from the same records you create each morning. A student who looks like they have missed a fortnight may simply have been in a class where the register wasn't completed. Before raising it with a family, check the class's own attendance for those dates — see Read Your Class's Attendance.
What you can and can't change
You can read a profile. Editing student records, moving a student between classes, and deleting anyone are office actions — and Student ID and Class cannot be edited at all once a student exists, by anyone. See Add a Student.
