Where to find it
Everything below sits in the Timetable group in the side drawer. Which items you see there depends on your access level — the grid, class subjects, curriculum and configuration are each separately permissioned, so an admin may see all four while a coordinator sees only one or two.
Teachers don't normally use this section at all. They get My Timetable as its own top-level drawer item instead — a read-only view of their own week.
The order to do things in
The timetable grid can only place lessons that the surrounding configuration already knows about, so a new institute usually works outwards from the setup screens:
- Configuration → Bell Schedule — define the periods that make up a day (label, start and end time, and whether the period is a break). You can keep more than one schedule and mark one as the default.
- Grade Curriculum — what each grade is meant to be taught.
- Class Subjects — which subjects actually run for each individual class.
- Timetable Grid — place those subjects into periods.
If a subject isn't offered when you try to place it, the fix is almost always in Class Subjects or Grade Curriculum rather than in the grid itself.
Working in the grid
- Each cell is one class in one period on one day. Selecting a cell lets you set the lesson there, or place a whole subject group when several classes split into options at the same time.
- Copy day takes every slot on one day and repeats it on the days you choose. The confirmation tells you how many slots copied and how many were skipped as conflicts — skipped slots are ones where the target period was already occupied or the teacher was already booked, so nothing is silently overwritten.
- When a change would double-book a teacher or a classroom, the grid refuses it and highlights the clashing slot rather than saving both.
Other configuration tabs
Configuration carries more than the bell schedule:
- Teacher Constraints — when individual teachers are and aren't available.
- Subjects & Rules and Subject Groups — how subjects behave and which ones are offered as a set of options.
- Classrooms — the rooms lessons can be matched to.
- Import Data — bulk-load setup data instead of entering it screen by screen.
You can also export the finished timetable for all classes or for all teachers from the top of the Configuration screen.
