Managing Teachers

Adding and editing teacher records, reading an individual teacher's profile, and keeping your own details up to date.

Where to find it

The Teachers group in the side drawer, which holds an Overview dashboard, the Directory, Attendance and Substitution. Adding, editing and viewing an individual teacher are all reached from the Directory rather than being separate drawer items.

Creating and editing teachers is separately permissioned from simply viewing them, so plenty of staff can browse the Directory without being able to change anything in it.

Adding and editing a teacher

  • Directory → Add opens a blank teacher form.
  • Editing an existing teacher opens the same form pre-filled, reached from that teacher's profile.

Because it's one form either way, a field that's required when creating is required when editing — there's no reduced "quick edit" version to look for.

A teacher's profile

Selecting a teacher from the Directory opens their profile, which is where their individual analytics live. From there you can drill into that specific teacher's attendance, and from that into a monthly breakdown. These are proper addressable pages, so a particular teacher's attendance view can be bookmarked or linked directly.

Your own profile

My Profile is a separate top-level drawer item and is self-service — teachers use it without needing any Teachers-section access. It covers three things:

  • Account — your username and, if you're a teacher, your teacher ID. These are shown for reference, not edited here.
  • Teacher Profile — your full name, date of birth and gender, plus optional contact number, email, address, religion, ethnicity and nationality. You can also set or remove a profile photo.
  • Change Password — current password, then the new one twice.
