Paying Your Application Fee

What happens after you pay an admissions fee online, and why a "pending" status isn't a failure.

How the payment step works

If your application requires a fee, you'll be sent to a payment gateway to pay by card. After paying, you're returned to a confirmation screen showing your transaction ID, a masked card number, the amount, and a status.

Payment statuses

  • Not started — you haven't reached or completed the payment step yet.
  • Pending — the payment is being processed. This is normal immediately after paying; it isn't a failure, and you don't need to pay again.
  • Paid — the payment has been confirmed.

Online card payments are only ever set to "paid" by the payment gateway confirming the transaction — an admissions officer can mark other payment methods as paid manually, but can't do that for a card payment still shown as pending. If your status has been stuck on pending for an unusually long time, contact the admissions office with your transaction ID rather than re-paying.
