Logging what a child did, with a photo and a learning outcome, and finding it again afterwards.

An activity is one recorded moment — what happened, which children were part of it, and what it shows about their learning. It's the raw material the termly report is later built from, so the habit of recording as you go is what makes report-writing quick rather than painful.
Parents see these too, though their app calls them observations rather than activities. Same records, different word.
Activities → Add Activity, then:
One activity can cover several children at once, so a group session is recorded once rather than retyped per child. You must select at least one student; the form won't save without it.
The Activities tab filters by student, activity type and date, and Clear resets them all in one go. If a record seems to have vanished, check whether a filter from earlier in the day is still applied before assuming it wasn't saved.
